Eclectic yet always based on strong tunes and harmonies, Raul Bonilla Vendrell has sung with many key groups from the Barcelona scene including Macaco and Calima, as well as backing musicians like Caïm Riba.
He has brought out a number of records as composer, singer, and lyricist with the bands Placton and 2in-par, and also under his own name.
His creative projects include releasing a record (“Paroxismo EP”) in a hand-sewn cardboard box dipped in wax, the 53 video-covers that he posted on YouTube over the course of a year under the pseudonym The Suburb, and the only tour ever (as far as we know) exclusively performed in barroom toilets.
He has written songs and lyrics for dozens of musicians from Lorenzo Santamaría to La Fundación Tony Manero.
Just in case he gets a sudden flash of inspiration, Raul always carries a pen and paper.
