Nicolás Sánchez Aguilar

Composer, producer and musician
Nico moved to Barcelona in 2001 where he obtained a diploma as an instrumentalist at the Taller de Musics. He joined the Barcelona jazz scene in 2004, playing at all the major clubs and festivals. His debut album, Unit, was recorded in March 2008 for Sanchon Music, and his second album De Visitante (Sanchon Music, 2010) was very well received by the music press. Nico was a finalist at the fourth Certamen de Jazz de Palma (Palma’s Commercial Jazz Competition) in 2011, and the winner of the fourth Barcelona Jazz Competition in 2011 with his project Land Space, under which he released Sueños (Sanchin Music/Indie). He’s worked alongside numerous musicians both nationally and internationally and is currently working as a producer for a range of artists including Ines Salpico, Humph and Escuincle Records.
